WOW...I've heard so many artists talk about spending more time doing the admin side of art than making art...it's so true! For a very long time I've kinda been ignoring that admin side. Hopping back on that admin task to connect with you even more so you are *in the know* of all things nicole watson art! So often posts and announccements are lost in the beautiful feed of art here on Instagram. I'm looking forward to this new way of connecting & sharing my art with you. Happy Friday friends! Today seemed like a good day

Happy Friday friends! Today seemed like a good day to post the last watercolor house portrait I worked on at the beginning of the month. I had three beautiful homes comissioned by austin realtors, all as gifts for the sellers.

I absolutely love it when the realtor, owner, or comissioner (is that the right term? gifter? hehe) shares with me something special about the home I'm painting. This amazing Austin stone home sits on georgous land in the hill country. The sweet owners lived here together the last years of their marriage until she passed away. Now her husband is in a retirement home, and his real estate agent asked me to paint their home as a memory for him. As I painted this, I kept thinking about the gentleman who would be gazing at my painting thinking of his wife and memories of the life they built together.
