Bright, bold, spring flower power! This is what happens when you combine fluorescent, a flower stencil, glass bead gel, deli paper and other fun supplies from Erin!
Almost a year ago my little family’s life changed when my husband lost his job. We are so thankful that it didn’t take long to find a new job, but this left us needing to sell our house, move, find a new house, and well, a stressful year with not much art as I packed our entire house and my studio almost alone. (My husband had to work in our new city during the week and came to “visit” me on the weekends.)
Due to this, I really fell out of the momentum of creating art. I knew I needed something to pull me back into my new studio…and am so thankful for this opportunity from Nathalie as one of her Creative Squad members.
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be playing along with Creative JumpStart (CJS) 2020, run for the 9th year by Nathalie Kalbach.
If you’re not familiar with CJS, it’s a one-of-a-kind online workshop to kick your creativity into high gear in January 2020. Learn techniques, discover new materials, and connect with other artists and crafters. Throughout January participants get access to 31 downloadable videos from 31 featured artists, called “JumpStarters.” See for yourself:
Head on over to Nathalie’s site to sign up and for more details.
You get 31 videos – over 5 hours worth of video content – for just $40 USD if you sign up by December 2nd, 2019 11:59 pm EST.
Afterwards it will be $45 USD until December 6th, 2019, and $50 USD until December 31st 2019, before it goes to its normal sale price of $60 USD on January 1st 2020.

So excited for my first tutorial for Nat’s Creative Squad! Hop over to Nathalie’s blog for a written tutorial including my inspiration behind this journal spread and a supply list.
Can you guess what my inspiration was and how I applied it to this month’s theme? If you have any guesses (don’t peek!) post them below in the comments. I’d love to know if you figured it out.
And, watch how I created the page!
I was so thrilled when Tiare Smith asked me to be one of the teachers for this year’s Gratitude Junk Journal class! I haven’t always been great about writing down my goals, but in the back of my head this has been one of them… to teach with a bunch of other amazing artists in a collaborative online class.
(Keep reading below for a coupon code to register and learn how you can win a spot!)
As you can see… it’s been months since I’ve updated my website with a blog post! In fact, I even need to update my new city. My husband and I (and the cat) moved to Austin, Texas, in June. A difficult end to 2018 with my husband losing his job of almost 20 years, to a long, stressful 2019 with finding a new job, selling our house, packing, finding a new house…and so many other things thrown in.
I have so much to be thankful for despite the difficult days, and I can’t wait to share with you how I am documenting this journey in my art journal.
Registration for the class begins TODAY – October 1 and class begins November 1.
Click on the link above to register, meet the other artists, and read more about the class.
The class is priced at $69, HOWEVER… I have a coupon code for you!! YAY! Now through October 23, use the code JOYFUL when you checkout for a 20% early bird special discount.
I would love for you to join us on this journey of gratitude. I cannot wait to see what you create.
Oh, and one more thing….you can win a spot in the class! Watch for a post on my Instagram account with the class logo to find out how!
I’m so excited to announce that I am one of the two new members in Nat’s Creative Squad! Hop over to Nathalie Kalbach’s blog to read about the team and meet the other members.
Nathalie has a diverse line of rubber stamps, stencils, and foam stamps. I am looking forward to experimenting with them and incorporating them into my art journals and other projects. While you are on her page, visit her store and browse all her unique designs (and maybe even buy a couple!).
